The temple walls surround the area, making the forest sacred. The Monkey Forest is actually a natural reserve for the monkeys. The place is a great example of how nature and humans can live together in harmony. The monkeys are the main appeal because they are free to roam around.Some temple festivals are often held here – yes, with the monkeys present and around.     You probably have seen these beautiful green hills with the line of layered terraces on their sides. Well, it’s the famous Tegalalang Rice Terrace – a popular place to take pictures or as your Instagram background. The rice terrace is super well-maintained and explored. If you see the view from afar, the rice terrace looks like this green and big layered cake.On the contrary to what you believe, finding the rice terrace isn’t exactly easy, especially if this is your first time coming to Ubud. But if you are coming to the place, do it in the morning or late in the afternoon – just don’t go at midday. It is going to be super hot and it can be uncomfortable.     It is one of the many popular waterfalls in the island. Because of its popularity, expect the place to be well-maintained. Even when you go down the stairs, they are pretty safe.
